Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

For the last ten years, the Franciscan Foundation for the Holy Land has been attempting to stem a major crisis facing our Church. That crisis is the ongoing exodus of the Christians from this land. In order to stem this exodus, the Franciscan Foundation, through the generosity of fellow Christians, has been providing our young adults - the future of Christianity- with much needed programs and projects, such as college scholarship grants, employment and housing. But to continue this assistance, much more funding is needed.

In our 800- years old presence in this land, we have tried to remain a bedrock for the faithful in the region. It seems clear that we are exactly where God wants us to be… in the land of His birth with His people.Hence, in our mission of stemming the Christian exodus, we would like to make a special appeal to you. We would like to offer you the unique opportunity of having your name or the name of a loved one placed "in perpetuity" in the Memorial Hall at the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem. It will not only be a permanent sign of your faith at one of the holiest sites in Christendom, but more importantly, it will help us to maintain and preserve the Christian presence. Please join us!  Please be our partners in this important endeavor. Help us keep our Christians in the Holy Land! We pray that you will make that difference for the Mother Church here in the Holy Land.

We ask your prayers for the success of this mission and be assured of our prayerful support for you and for your family.

Sincerely yours in Christ,

Fr. Pierbattista Pizzaballa, OFM

Custos of the Holy LandChairman of the Franciscan Foundation

"The many funds received from these projects will help us provide assistance in the fields of education, employment, housing as well as for humanitarian services for our local Christians. The Franciscan Foundation sees an historic and unique opportunity to share this unique project with the faithful around the world. The "Memorial Hall Project" at the Church of the Nativity will be a sign of the rebirth of the Christian community in the Holy Land and with your participation in this project, can, without a doubt, light the darkness that has descended upon the Christian community in the Holy Land.

“ I am sure that God will never permit this Holy Land to be void of the Christian faithful and thus making these Holy Places empty religious monuments and museums..To work for peace in the Holy Land is the best way to help the Christianity to continue to stay and to flourish here in the Holy Land. The foundation of the Custody of the Holy Land it is doing great things to help the Christian here to stay. "There is now a Memorial Hall at the church of the nativity in Bethlehem, which is the oldest church in the land, and one of the oldest in all of Christendom. You will able to get a small memorial placed there, so its not only your generosity remembered by the local Christians but also the Franciscans will be there to constantly pray for you as you pray and support the Christian community they served in the Holy Land. So please consider this as an opportunity for you to have a share in the Holy Land and in this Holy Church"

Fr. Mitch Pacwa
